Here we are, June 20, the first day of summer and longest day of the year for 2012. Already! This year seems to be flying by, but then I guess they all seem that way to me these days. I’m starting to think (okay, actually this just now occurred to me) that in the equation governing the relative speed of time, love is the multiplier. This is admittedly über-geeky, but bear with me as I think this through. We humans often remark that a minute spent under certain circumstances can feel like an eternity, while an hour spent under other circumstances can pass like a wink. What’s the difference? I’m pretty sure it’s love. If you’re doing something you love, especially if it’s with someone you love, the time just flies. On the other hand, if there’s no love in what you’re doing or who you’re doing it with, things certainly do tend to drag. I must have a lot of love in my life these days, because the past few months have been a blur.
There are pros and cons to the accelerated passage of time, I suppose. But I’ll take it over the alternative with a glad and full heart.
Shameless plug: Since time passes so quickly when love is mixed in, I suggest you’d be wise to document your time and love whenever you can. And I’m just the guy to help with that! 🙂
